The National Agency of Drug and Food Control (Badan Pengawas Obat dan Makanan– “BPOM” ) has issued Regulation the Labeling of Processed Foodson(“ Regulation 31/2018 ”), with the ultimate goal of providing clear and valid information on processed food products prior to their purchase and/or consumption by members of the general public. [1] Regulation 31/2018 sets out the set of comprehensive guidelines which address the affixation of labeling, as well as the various types of information which must be included on processed food labeling (“ Labels ”). However,due to the broad scope of Regulation 31/2018, this edition of Indonesian Legal Brief (ILB) will confine its discussion to the following matters:
