As originally mandated under Regulation of the Minister of Finance No. 34/PMK.04/2021 on Entries and Releases of Goods to and from Areas Stipulated as Free Trade Areas and Free Ports (“ Regulation 34/2021 ”), [1] the Director-General of Customs and Excise (“ Director-General ”) has now issued Regulation No. PER-25/BC/2023 (“ Regulation 25/2023 ”), which specifically addresses entries and releases of goods from areas that are stipulated as Free Trade Areas and Free Ports (collectively referred to as “ Free Areas ”) through consignment goods. This new framework is set to come into force on 22 March 2024.
